With a big crowd and the great pole vaulters the first meeting of Emmanuel Karalis made its debut. Twelve champions from seven different countries started at the competition.
The bar was set at 5.25m., in the modern arena which was set outside the Town Hall of Ancient Olympia. Aussie Kurtis Marschal was the winner of the competition with 5.70m while the French champion Thibaut Collet was second with 5.70m. The host, Emmanuel Karalis, was third with 5.60m. Copell (GBR), Irwin (USA), Renner (SLO) and Wojciechowski (POL) had successful jumps in 5.60m too. Seven athletes, in total, managed to exceed 5.60m at the competition.
The crowd was cheering every athlete’s attempt and hyped them a lot, while enjoying this spectacular competition. The meeting concluded with the athletes' awards, followed by fireworks and lots of beautiful smiles.
